That'd be cool! I bought a thing of three shiny balloons already, but I'm afraid
they might be kind of saggy by Sunday. It's hard for me to get away to buy
balloons and stuff since Fernanda has the car, so when she's not around, I have
no wheels!
I used the opportunity of the Corporate Challenge on Wednesday to sneak in some
balloons and decorations, since I knew Fer wouldn't be home till late, but I was
limited to what I could carry in a backpack on my Razor scooter... What a sight
I must have been scooting down the sidewalks with three balloons trailing me :-)

Anyway, I learned yesterday that Fernanda's mother is planning to call her at 1
pm on Sunday, which is just perfect. She'll be up and in, and just slightly
off-balance having just talked to mommy when everyone shows up.
Now, I've been thinking: it would be great if everyone could show up *without*
having to ring the doorbell, just walk right in en masse. I was wondering if
that is possible. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone else in the building I
could ask to let you in -- that would be the easiest. I'm wondering, in past
when you've come, how has it been at the entrance? Do you think it's be no big
deal to get in with someone else? The rear entrance is sometimes left open,
too. If you think you could get into the building, I was thinking I'd just
unlock the door when Fernanda's mom calls, and then everyone could just walk
right in (I'd ensure that we're both decent! :-) Waddaya think?

That sounds like a great plan. Sometimes there are people around to let us
in, sometimes not. I assume that if we go to the back door off the parking
lot we will have a better chance. Maybe we can make some sort of deal, like
if we don't show up by 2:15 you have to make some excuse to leave the
apartment to come get us... Or we could all ring the bell together and yell
surprise into the intercom...
Maybe I need to figure out exactly who is coming and to make sure that we

I am still waiting to hear if Andrey and Tendu can come (but I think that
Tendu is on vacation...).
Does anyone have a suggestion of a meeting area? If we want to get to her
apartment at 2, what time should we meet?
We think it would be cool if we could all arrive at Fernanda's apartment
without having to ring the bell to be let in. So we may have to wait around
the back entrance of their building in the hopes that somebody coming in
from the parking lot can let us in.
If worse comes to worse, then we can ring the bell and all yell "surprise"
when she asks who is ringing. Alternatively, Karl may give us the apartment
number of a neighbor who he might ask to let us in.
Also, does anybody know where I can get an ice cream cake???

I don't know where you live but on Ridgewood Ave there's a Haagen Dazs ice
cream place and they have great ice cream cakes. There are also Carvel
